Normally, I’m a gaming blog first. Today, I am going much deeper.
A few minutes ago we had A Disturbance in the Force.
Carrie Fisher, best known for her role as Leia Organa in the Star Wars series, has died at age 60.
I know that I was entranced by Carrie’s performance of Leia in A New Hope, The Empire Strikes Back, and Return of the Jedi as a boy, but it is what she did for girls and young women was much more powerful. Her portrayal of Leia as a smart, strong, resourceful, as well as sexy, woman even in times of great pain and sorrow showed young women everywhere what they can do.
Quoted from a friend:
For many of us, Leia taught us that you can be a diplomat AND a warrior princess. And then as we got older, Carrie Fisher taught a lot of us what we needed even more: to show our scars, recognize who we have been, be proud to get to where we are now, and not to doubt who we can become. No matter what the scars look like.
The Force was with her and now she is one with the Force.
By the way, 2016, I’m going to enjoy watching you die you sadistic SOB!
